Mitzy D. Flores

Mitzy D. Flores is a nurse educator currently working in higher education. Her background includes practicing as a clinical nurse in the areas of critical care, oncology, community nursing, and military medicine. She is an alumna of the Watson Caring Science Institute, and practices as a Caritas Coach©. Mitzy is a certified End of Life Doula and an End of Life Educator who trained through the Conscious Dying Institute©. She is also the 2021 recipient of the Madeleine Leininger Culture Care Award, honored by the International Association for Human Caring (IAHC). Mitzy practices and holds board certification as an advanced holistic nurse, and clinical healthcare simulation specialist.

Mitzy's doctoral work focuses on cultural anthropology with an emphasis on Death & Dying, Love, Care, Consciousness, Spirituality, and Religion. She currently resides in Reno with her family and pet-children. Mitzy is a big suppurter of local philanthropic visions and capabilities. She dedicates much of her time to working with humanitarian missions that serve vulnerable populations around the world via educationsal opportunities, retreats, podcasts, and one-on-one sessions.
